Built c1855 as the Australian Joint Stock Bank, the first bank in the goldrush days in Braidwood. Later (1890s) turned into offices for the newly established Braidwood Municipal Council and two small rooms were converted into one large one for Council meetings. Even after the Municipal Council merged with Tallaganda Shire Council (1930s) this building contained as Council offices. Both commercial and residential uses since then. Georgian design, cedar and hand made glass windows, cedar joinery and hand adzed floorboards. Granite foundations, brick walls, corrugated iron roof. One storey with cellar, attic conversion possible. Kitchen and bathroom. Very large living area, two small bedrooms. Separate two room detached brick studio, situated on a 1012m3 block
